Dinged at Michigan-Ross

Got the official note today from Michigan Ross that I have been DINGed.
With this, my hopes now hinges on 2 schools - McCombs and XLRI....and maybe with some random luck, getting of the CMU Waitlist.

I have the XLRI interview on Monday...lets see what happens.

Ross R2 Submitted

Submitted my Ross R2 application yesterday. Overall, I am happy with the essays. I have clearly highlighted my fit with Ross, demonstrated extensive research of the school's offerings and how I can contribute to the Ross community.
My Resume also got a makeover thanks to comments from a fellow MBA applicant.

Let's see what happens here.

Ross Essays

Working on my Ross R2 essays which are due for submission on Jan 3rd.
The essays are brief (max 500 words) and cover major areas (goals, leadership, challenges you have overcome) with one nice essay on an alternative career interest.

Waiting game !!

The waiting game is killing me !
I fanatically check Yahoo! mail these days. If I see Inbox(1), I get all excited ...only to see the odd ICICI statement or a businessweek ad !

Hope the week ends well ! ISB result is due Friday morning.

Meanwhile, working on my Ross R2 essays. I finally understood what I should convey for the first short essay, the one which asks "If you were not pursuing the career goals you described in Question 1, what profession would you pursue instead? (for example, teacher, musician, athlete, architect, etc.) How will this alternate interest contribute to your effectiveness in solving multi-disciplinary problems."

The challenge is not just to identify any interest, but also to show how that interest can help you solve multi-disciplinary problems, which require either a variety of skills or a skill which is unique to that interest.
I had a few interests in mind but finally nailed it the one which can help me most w.r.t multi-disciplinary problem solving.
