Got the news this evening that my application to Kellogg was rejected.
I though I did a pretty good job with my Kellogg essays. Looks like it was not enough.
On a positive note, McCombs sent an interview invite. I scheduled an alum interview for next week. We'll see how that goes.
No news yet from Ross and Haas. Ross decisions are around 2 weeks away...and I haven't even got an interview invite yet !!! I think my Haas app is lying somewhere in the adcom trash area in Berkeley.
Have started thinking about plan-B already, given the tragedy that I am enduring this app season. More on that later....
Meanwhile, busy preparing for GMAT-2nd attempt. Need to do it well and do it quick, if at all it can help to improve my case at Tepper. We'll see..

Good luck with the McCombs interview.
Any reason for withdrawing from NUS ?
I've been waitlisted at NUS
I heard that placements in IT area is not very good in S'pore....that's why I decided to withdraw. Did they give you a reason why they WLed you ? I would suggest you keep in touch with the adcom to see if you can send some additional material to improve your case.
No specific reason yet, NUS adcom hasn't been very responsive. Guess it's a wait and watch game.
hi MBAAspirant.
I was reading your blogs - i wish i had seen it earlier. Your and mine profile are pretty close - the only difference being i score 730 in gmat and i did masters in us too. But i think the dreaded 'Indian it male' curse is getting on to me too.
I applied to 8 schools - all top rung (Wharton , harvard, chicago etc.). Got dinged everywhere except for Tepper where I interviewed last month for R2. Question - do you know if improved gmat matters? I "really" dont want to go through that preparation torture again, as I dont think I will be able to improve much in English. What else is your plan B. Myself (I'm also thinking about plan B) I'm thinking of applying to part time programs such as NYU etc.
Do let me know what you think.
(BTW, I live in NYC area too)
Hi Amit,
Applying part-time may be a good-option provided you are interested in moving within the same industry and function post-MBA. For a career-switch, an internship and therefore a full-time MBA is necessary.
With regards to GMAT, I am taking it again as I have some hope of improving my score. I think this is the only factor that is in my hands at this point...my essays, Undergrad GPA, extra-curriculars are all out of my hand at this point.
Good luck ! My crystal ball says Tepper is where you are set to go.
Hi modusoperandi,
Don't worry much in that case...I am sure quite a few spots will open up and hopefully you will get a call.
Good luck for your gmat prep and exam.
Congrats in advance on becoming a dad in few months. I've been posponing parenthood due to mba/ pending studies. I really hope i can get in this year and dont have to apply next year.
